We are just a few weeks away from the 2023 edition of THE PLAYERS Championship! Commonly referred to as simply “the Players”, this annual tradition is one of the most highly anticipated golf tournaments of the year, attracting top golfers from around the world to compete on one of the most challenging courses in the sport. 

Held annually at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, the Players is known for its iconic 17th hole, which features an island green that tests the skill and nerve of even the most seasoned players. The Players has seen some of the most dramatic moments in golf history, from Tiger Woods’ iconic “Better Than Most” putt in 2001 to Webb Simpson’s surprise victory in 2018. The Tournament

Ever since the first Players Championship in 1974, a win here is one of the most sought-after titles on the PGA Tour. Jack Nicklaus was the first champion and, 9 days later, was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame just down the road. 

Fans and players affectionately refer to the tournament as the “fifth major,” on par with the competition at the Masters at Augusta National.
