The Perfect Beach Day Itinerary

Sandy hair, Salty Air, and Dinner at Timoti’s

There’s something special about a beach day done right. The type of day where you lose track of time, and the only real plan is where to eat after. On Amelia Island, the plan practically makes itself! Here’s how to spend a full and effortless day in the sun and end exactly where you should at Timoti’s Seafood Shak.

Morning: Ease Into the Day at the Right Beach Access

Start your morning right by heading to one of Amelia Island’s most beloved beach access points. For an easy entry point, Main Beach Park is the way to go. The super convenient parking and bathrooms make this a very popular choice. If you are looking for something quieter and a little more tucked away, Peters Point often has fewer crowds, especially earlier in the day, and is a local favorite.

You definitely want to make sure you set up close enough to truly see and hear the waves. Arrive early to roll out your towel and secure a prime spot right near the water’s edge. Bring a good book, sunscreen, and maybe some snorkel gear if you’re feeling extra adventurous. A lot of people even walk the shoreline looking for the notorious shark teeth finds along the coast. The morning breeze is gentle, the waves are calm, and the day is all yours!

Afternoon: Slow it Down

By midday, the beach takes on the heat. Most locals prefer to move around at a slower pace and take an early afternoon break. This is the perfect time to take a dip in the water to cool off. There are so many to find! Or you can post up under an umbrella and fully relax, maybe take a midday nap.

After midday activities, your tummy can start to grumble. Nearby spots around Sadler Road make it easy to grab something quick and get back on the beach, but it’s great to plan ahead and pack something that will last you throughout late afternoon, but isn’t too filling, so you can enjoy all the time out in the sun before it’s time to head back in. Beach picnics are surprisingly easy and enjoyable, as long as you don’t feed the seagulls! ;)

Sunset: Timing it Just Right

As the day winds down, keep an eye on the tide and sunset timing. Planning around low tide gives you more beach to explore, and sunset on Amelia Island tends to paint the sky in soft pinks, agnes, and golds that feel almost surreal. You can check out the best tide times and sunset views at NOAA’s Amelia Island tide charts to make sure you plan accordingly.

You’ll want to venture over to Fernandina Harbor Marina for a scenic backdrop during sunset time. You can also enjoy a sunset cruise on Amelia Island River Cruises to get all the best shots. The marina is super close to Timoti’s, so you can gradually make your way over.

Dinner: Timoti’s Seafood Shak

There’s a reason Timoti’s is a staple after a beach day. We are casual in the best way. Sandy feet are welcome, and the food really speaks for itself after a day in the sun.

The menu leans into fresh, local flavors with crowd favorites like wild-caught shrimp, blackened fish tacos, and our signature lobster rolls. It’s a well-earned meal after being outside all day. Pair it with one of our own custom-brewed Po’Boy Pilsners or local beers from Mocama Beer Company or Dog Rose Brewing Co. to get the true local feel. Definitely make sure to get a table outside too to stretch out the day a little longer. You can always find our daily specials posted on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Nightcap: One More Moment by the Water

After dinner, take a long walk along the beach or find a bench near the marina to watch the boats. You will leave full, relaxed, and ready to plan your next visit. Not ready to head back?
