Champs vs. Underdogs
The Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots will face-off in one of the finest sports facilities in the world, filled to the brim with fans from opposite coasts. While the stadium might be new, football fans saw this match-up of Rams and Patriots once before in the 2002 Super Bowl. The Rams are making their first trip back to the Super Bowl since their 2002 loss, while the Patriots are returning for the ninth time since that game. Should the Patriots take this win, it will be their sixth time claiming the Lombardi trophy, tying them with the Steelers for most Super Bowl wins.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is making his ninth Super Bowl appearance on Sunday, solidifying his record of the most Super Bowl appearances for any one player. If the Patriots take the win, he will also set the record for most Super Bowl wins by a player.
Records Through the Ages
Setting multiple records takes time, which explains the seventeen year age difference between Brady and the Ram’s quarterback Jared Goff- who is 24 years old. Another notable age difference in this year’s Super Bowl is the 33-year age gap between the two coaches. Patriots’ coach Bill Belichick is 66 years old, while Rams’ coach Sean McVay is only 33. Should the Ram’s win, McVay will be the youngest coach in history to win the Super Bowl.
Although they may be considered the underdogs of this match-up, the Rams still have impressive talent on their side. Their defensive tackle Aaron Donald has earned a title as the best defensive player in football after just completing a mind-blowing 20.5 sack season. The Rams also ranked second in top offenses in terms of both yards and points.

Regardless of the outcome, the 2019 Super Bowl is predicted to be an exciting game. The average margin of victory for the Patriots in their past wins is 3.8 points. Their average margin of defeat in their three Super Bowls losses is 5 points.
