Springing the Blues: April 5th — April 7th

Every April, Jacksonville Beach hosts Springing the Blues, the largest oceanfront free blues festival in the world. All weekend long, the Seawalk Pavilion features national, regional and local blues artist on two stages. This oceanfront event holds an energetic lineup, artisan marketplace, food court and kid friendly activities.

There’s a reason this festival attracts an estimated 125,000 fans each year. Bring the whole family for three great days of blues on the beach!

 

Mandarin Art Festival: April 20th

Mandarin Art Festival

Hosted every Easter weekend since 1968, the Mandarin Art Festival brings together more than 100 local and national artists. Artists, patrons and guests are encouraged to attend to view the art and enjoy featured food vendors, children’s activities, live musical entertainment and a Green Market featuring locally-produced products.

This celebration marks the 51st anniversary of the non-profit Mandarin Community Club, which promotes local preservation and beautification in the Mandarin community. The Mandarin Art Festival holds a title as the longest running event of its kind in Northeast Florida.

 

Joseph A. Strasser Butterfly Festival: April 27th

Joseph A. Strasser Butterfly Festival

Annually, the Tree Hill Nature Center hosts the Joseph A. Strasser Butterfly Festival. This unique community event includes animal encounters, live games, crafts, food and even a live butterfly release.

In honor of the event’s 15th anniversary, this year the festival highlights Tree Hill Nature Center’s dedication to promoting local and sustainable foods.

Welcome to Rockville: May 3rd — May 5th

Established in 2011, Welcome to Rockville is an annual spring time rock festival featuring modern rock, classic rock and metal bands.

Held in Metropolitan Park Friday through Sunday, this year’s lineup includes rock legends like Korn, Evanescence, and Incubus. Grab your fellow metal heads and prepare for a weekend of rocking out.

 

Jacksonville Jazz Festival: May 23 — 26

Jacksonville Jazz Festival

One of the largest jazz festivals in the nation calls Jacksonville, FL home. Attracting more than 130,000 attendees each year, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival brings lively music to the heart of downtown during Memorial Day weekend.

The festival will feature two live entertainment stages, a free jazz clinic at the Ritz Theatre, a piano competition at the Florida Theatre, a sacred jazz brunch at the Omni Jacksonville hotel and even a jazz marketplace for patrons to shop.

Join some of the best jazz musicians in the nation in downtown Jacksonville and be prepared to get your groove on!
