Celebrate Black Friday in Your Pajamas

Get ready for Christmas at Downtown Fernandina Beach’s Annual Black Friday Pajama Party! The pajama party takes place on November 26th at multiple downtown stores and is open to all ages. Fernandina Main Street, PJD’s, and the Historic Fernandina Beach Association are hosting this event, which includes shopping, music, and family fun. From 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, enjoy special discounts and snacks in your pajamas.

Some of the entertainment at the Black Friday Pajama Party includes a 10 AM holiday bell concert with Pam Bell, as well as face painting by Take Stock in Children. Event volunteers will also offer hot chocolate to guests. The 2nd Street Block Party hosted by PJD’s will include music by Michele Anders, Sean McCarthy, Amy Vickery, and Sam McDonald.

The Pajama Contest will begin at 11 AM on 2nd Street. Win prizes from local shops by dressing up in your best pajamas. Categories for the contest include Best Individual, Best Group, Most Creative, and Best Pet Pajamas. More holiday events to look forward to near Fernandina Beach include Amelia Island Museum of History’s Holiday Home Tour on December 3rd and 4th, as well as a Lighted Christmas Parade on December 4th. The Ritz Carlton of Amelia Island will also host their Holiday Breakfast with Santa on December 11th.

Wear Your PJs to Gregor MacGregor’s Mini Links and Drinks

Gregor MacGregor’s Mini Links and Drinks is taking part in the fun by offering a free round of mini golf to anyone in their pajamas. The new putt-putt spot offers mini golf, great drinks, and beautiful scenery in Fernandina Beach. Gregor MacGregor’s will soon offer a beachy bar and a patio to enjoy drinks. They offer a range of alcoholic or non-alcoholic cocktails, perfect for a date night or a family-friendly evening.

The mini-golf club is named after Gregor MacGregor, a Scottish adventurer who landed on the beach and claimed Amelia Island for the Republic of Florida. MacGregor’s claim didn’t last for long, but since 1817 he has been an important part of the area’s history. This historical memory makes for a funny story and a great name for Fernandina’s newest golf course.
