Fun Back-to-School Activities in Jacksonville

Get Ready for School Days with Fun Community Events & Fresh Eats

Summer is coming to an end and school is right around the corner. For those with little ones, this can be stressful making sure they have everything needed for another year of learning. It doesn’t have to be though, especially when there are a bunch of fun and free back to school events to participate in! Check out a few great back to school events coming up right here in our backyard. 


1. Community First Day at MOSH: Looking Forward to Getting Back to School

This event takes place on August 1st at the Jacksonville Museum of Science and History. Explore all of the different exhibits and have fun while learning with your mini-me. All children 12 and under will have free admittance. (The Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit is a kid's favorite!)

2. Whole Foods Back to School Kids Fashion Show and Boutique to Benefit the Whole Kids Foundation

On August 2nd, Whole Foods will be partnering with the Jacksonville Kid's Designer Warehouse Sale in effort to bring healthy food options to schools in the area. This includes salad bars, garden grants and more to ensure each child grows up healthy and strong. This event will have several different activities for you and the kids to enjoy while contributing to a great cause. 

 3. FL Blue Back to School Screenings  

Florida Blue Center at The River City Marketplace will be hosting Jacksonville’s Annual Back to School Event. This fun day will feature games, prizes, school supplies and free health screenings to ensure each child is ready to go back to school. This event takes place on August 4th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their River City location. 

4. Jacksonville Downtown Art Walk – Back to School Art SMARTS

On Sunday, August 5th, enjoy a summer day out with the family at Jacksonville’s Downtown Art Walk in celebration of going back to school. This event will have plenty of activities, live music, vendors, and bounce houses for the kids to enjoy. 

5. Jacksonville Main Library End of Summer Party

Make your own superhero mask at the Jacksonville Main Library End of Summer Party on Monday, August 6th. There will be games, obstacle courses and plenty of fun books to help dive into the new school year.
