Fall means back to school, cooler weather, upcoming holidays, and plenty of opportunities for fun fall weekends in Fernandina. This fall, grab some friends or bring your family to Fernandina Beach for a relaxing weekend or a few days full of excitement. Visit some of Fernandina’s best local restaurants, kick back at the beach, or explore some of Florida’s history. Fernandina Beach will also host a range of family-friendly and adult only fall activities. Start planning your fall weekends with this list of things to do near Fernandina: 


1- Family-Friendly Sunset Tour in Amelia Island 

Amelia River Cruises and Charters offers family-friendly sunset tours that are the perfect fall activity. Welcoming guests of all ages, the sunset tour can take you and your family out on the water to enjoy Amelia Island’s scenic waterways and learn a brief history of the area. Reservations are recommended for the sunset tour, but luckily, tours are offered almost every day this fall. 

 

2- Fernandina’s Anchor Trolley Ghost Tour 

Get in the Halloween spirit early with the Anchor Trolley Ghost Tour. The tour is appropriate for all ages and will pick guests up in Fernandina Beach, leading them through an educational ghost tour of the city. 

 

3- Amelia Island Downtown Cocktail Tour 

During this two-hour walking tour hosted by Amelia Island Downtown Tasting Tours, guests aged 21+ will be able to explore local bars. Each tour takes four stops at some of Amelia Island’s best bar spots, where guests will be offered a cocktail and given the chance to learn about each bar’s history and founding. This tour is a great way to meet new people and celebrate events like anniversaries, birthdays, and date nights

 

4- “Old Florida” Kayaking Through Fernandina Beach 

At Amelia Island Kayak Excursions, guests of all ages will experience “old Florida” while paddling through one of Florida’s reflective black water creeks. Spot aquatic plants and native Florida wildlife on the water in either a single or tandem kayak. This excursion is the ideal family-friendly experience to enjoy as the weather gets cooler. 

 

5- Yoga at Fernandina’s Williams House

Throughout this fall, the Williams House in Fernandina will host moonlight and sunrise yoga classes. Guests are welcome to practice their balance, strength, and flexibility on the front lawn of the Inn. All ages are welcome to participate in these stress-relieving yoga courses. 

 

6- Fernandina Beach Market Place 

Stop by the Fernandina Beach Market Place on Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM to shop through the farmers market. Local vendors will sell produce, pastries, coffee, snacks, and even pet treats. On the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, the Market Place also hosts an arts market for local artists to sell their art, crafts, and jewelry.
