The Highest-Rated Music Venues from Jacksonville to the Historic Coast

Residents and tourists alike have enjoyed Northeast Florida’s unique mix of music venues for decades. Audiences love to get snacks and drinks, sit back, and support their favorite artists, whether they’re world-renowned or up-and-comers. There is a stage for every taste, so consider immersing yourself starting with these fan-favorite spots.

Colonial Oak Music Park

Located in downtown St. Augustine, Colonial Oak Music Park is a charming outdoor venue offering a variety of live shows and open mic nights. As the name suggests, it is located under a 300 year-old oak tree. Fans enjoy the relaxed ambiance, tasty food and drinks, and of course, the entertainment. Most of their events, including a portion of the Sing Out Loud Festival, offer free admission.

Blue Jay Listening Room

On the topic of special, intimate venues, Blue Jay Listening Room is another gem in Northeast Florida. This venue was founded with the philosophy that music is a way to foster community-building and profound communication. Locals enjoy the variety of music, proximity to the artists, the house band, and the thrifted decor. The professionals in the house band host a Jazz Jam every Tuesday, and they open it up to audience members. Unlike the other venues on this list, Blue Jay is indoors, so patrons are welcome to enjoy it comfortably all year long.

St. Johns Pier

Didn’t expect to see this one on the list? Although the pier is not traditionally a music venue, it hosts free beach concerts every Wednesday from August to October. Guests are invited to treat themselves with food truck delicacies. Each day has a different theme, including blues, pop, salsa, and rock.

St. Augustine Amphitheatre

Boasting 5,000 seats, the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, or the Amp, is one of the largest venues on this list. It has hosted widely recognized names, like ZZ Top, The Beach Boys, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Nicks, and more. More recently, the Amp has hosted Billy Strings, Kacey Musgraves, and John Legend. Even as a stage with big artists, the Amp has exceptional seating arrangements that make fans from all zones feel close to the action. Patrons also admire this venue’s well-organized parking, impeccable acoustics, and proximity to the beach (seriously, it’s a five-minute drive!).

Daily’s Place and EverBank Stadium

Jacksonville locals and Jaguars fans will recognize Daily’s Place, an outdoor but covered amphitheater adjacent to the Everbank Stadium, which also functions as a music venue. Luke Combs, Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton, Brothers Osborne, and Sam Hunt are just some of the big country names that have appeared on these stages. Keep an eye on their websites to catch the next headliner live.

Honorable Mentions

Local music lovers with a keen eye may notice some of their favorite spots are missing. We didn’t forget Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, as it undergoes renovations, nor 1904 Music Hall, which lives on through Underbelly. Another fan-favorite is the historic Florida Theatre, which hosts a range of events from jazz to ballet, and other performing arts. These all hold such special places in the hearts of many Northeast Florida residents, and we admire their service to the area’s music scene.
