Activities To Do This Fall

Fall is quickly approaching which means cooler Florida days are on the horizon. For some of us, the kids are back in school (via home or in-person) and for many autumn is an all-time favorite season. With many (outdoor!) activities available this time of year, we have created a list appropriate for the whole family. From enjoying a bike ride to a spooky ghost tour, there are plenty of ways to indulge in the start of autumn weather. Check out six fall festivities to enjoy in North Florida this year.

Football Season has Kicked Off

Football season is back in action! Many are eager to start participating in fall festivities, and an all American favorite is watching football games. While many stadiums are limiting the amount of people watching in-person, the football season plans to move forward with kickoff events around the country.

For the Jacksonville Jaguars, the TIAA Bank Field announced they are following CDC social distancing guidelines, and fans will be required to wear a face covering. Fans are able to purchase tickets online where Ticketmaster will allow six feet of difference between parties.

Enjoying the outdoors is a great way to celebrate the start of autumn weather, and riding a bike is taking the enjoyment to the next level. There are plenty of North Florida biking trails to experience by yourself or as a family. Many include interesting scenery, wildlife viewing, and state parks lined with oak hammocks and palm trees.

Attend a Ghost Tour in a Historic Small Town (St. Augustine is perfect for the occasion)

Get in the spooky spirit this fall with a ghost tour in a historic small town. St. Augustine offers many ghost tour options, which may involve walking the historic streets, or taking a trolley to local haunts. For the most part, these attractions are family-friendly, however may be too spooky for the younger goblins in your family.

Horseback Riding on Amelia Island

Saddle up! Horseback riding is a wonderful way to spend time outside and even glimpse at amazing wildlife. Amelia Island offers horseback rides on the beach where you get the chance to see dolphins and ospreys. Start or end your day with a sunset or sunrise ride. Day time rides are also available.

Explore a Corn Maze

Corn Mazes are an essential part of fall! They are perfect for spending time with your family, and allow you to take in the fresh autumn air. Stop in at one of our favorite locations in North Florida to hang with a few farm animals, enjoy wagon rides and explore a 6-acre corn maze.

Go Pumpkin Picking

Even though pumpkins are not native to Florida, there are still patches that bring the pumpkin picking experience to life! Several pumpkin patches in North Florida offer tractor hay-rides concession foods and hundreds of pumpkins to choose from. Check out a few seasonal pumpkin patches located in North Florida.
