Predicting the Jags Upcoming Season with New Coach and Players
With football season around the corner, sports fans across the country are beginning to predict the outcome of this fall’s upcoming games. Fans and players are hoping the Jags can begin a turnaround at the start of next season. In 2021, the team went 3-14 and had the first pick in the 2021 and 2020 NFL drafts, meaning they were the lowest scoring team in the NFL two years in a row. With the beginning of a new season just around the corner, is the team prepared to win against competitors like the Washington Commanders, Indianapolis Chargers, and Los Angeles Chargers?

New head coach Doug Pederson will be the franchise’s 7th head coach, and fans are hopeful he will be able to guide the team to more wins. Players like Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence have potential to help the team reach success, especially with a new coaching staff. For the Jags to become even more competitive, however, their defense line needs to improve. The team is already headed in the right direction by choosing No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker and linebacker Devin Lloyd.
Offense and Defense Predictions
Offensively, the Jaguars are relying on Christian Kirk to be their No. 1 receiver, while Press Taylor will work with Pederson to be the team’s new offensive coordinator. The team hopes their offensive line improves from last season, during which Lawrence got sacked 32 times. Brandon Linder, who played center for 8 years retired, but things are looking good for the team with recent draft pick Luke Fortner. Fortner was an All-SEC selection last season for Kentucky, and was a third-round pick for the Jags this past draft. In terms of a running back, many fans are wondering whether or not James Robinson will return from rehab for his torn Achilles in time to play in September.

The Jaguars have been spending their offseason making defense a priority. Five of the Jags’ seven draft selections were defensive players, including No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker and potential starting linebackers Devin Lloyd and Chad Muma. In the weeks following this, the Jaguars will play against the Indianapolis Colts, the Los Angeles Chargers, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Houston Texans, and the New York Giants, just to name a few of their opponents. Overall, the Jaguars have more talent on the team this year, and with a new coaching staff, things are looking up for the Jacksonville team!
