Beach Tag
A coastal twist on a classic.
How to play:
At the beginning of the game, one person is the “shark” who must tag the other players, who are the “fish”.
Once tagged, a fish becomes part of the shark’s family and must help tag the remaining fish.
The last person to be tagged wins the title of “fastest fish!”
Sand Hopscotch
Bring this popular hopping game to the beach!
How to play:
Use a stick or shovel to draw a grid on the sand.
Using a shell or rock, toss your marker onto the grid. Hop along the grid, carefully skipping the square your marker landed on!
Now, turn around and hop back, picking up your marker along the way.
The sand might be hot, so don’t forget to wear your flip flops!

Build a Sandman
All you need is a beach bucket to create a summer snowman!
How to build:
Take some wet sand out of the bucket and squeeze into a compressed ball.
Sprinkle dry sand over the ball of wet sand to make it as round as possible.
Repeat to make three balls of separate sizes (the three parts of your snowman!) These can be as large or small as you like.
Stake the three balls together to form a snowman. Decorate the body and face with sunglasses, a hat, shells, rocks, and other fun beach finds!
Beach Ball Hot Potato
What better way to cool off than with an exciting game of hot potato? You’ll need a beach ball and a way to play music!
How to play:
Divide players into two teams. Arrange the teams in two parallel lines, standing across from each other. Choose one volunteer to run the music!
Once the music begins, players throw the ball to each other, switching teams with each throw.
Whoever is holding the ball when the music stops is eliminated! Continue playing until only one player remains.
Beach Treasure Hunt
Practice your best pirate voice, it’s time to find some treasure! Kids will love this coastal scavenger hunt.
How to play:
Make a list of items that can be found out the beach. Need some ideas? Think shells, rocks, white pebbles, black pebbles, seaweed, shark tooth, or feathers!
Give each participant a list of the items to hunt for and a bucket for collecting the treasure.
Set a timer for 15 minutes and begin the hunt! Let kids search for as much treasure as they can find in the time limit.
Offer a prize to the winner!
